Back in June, we had four great days in Montelupo Fiorentino for the workshop L'OGGETTO DEL QUOTIDIANO, co-produced by IED Torino and curated by Caterina Gabelli and Sara Maragotto from Studio Fludd and product designer Lucia Massari.
Various activities of on-site data collecting, visual exercises, and mixed-media techniques we explored design practices aimed at participating in the Montelupo Ceramic Award 2018 competition (submission deadline extended to October 10th 2018).
An amazing group of seventeen pioneering participants immersed themselves in different locations in Montelupo Fiorentino, prominent centre of artistic ceramic manufacturing not far from Florence. The workshop started with the rediscovery of local traditions, combined with new creative routes and technical tests.
All made in collaboration with Nationhood and Museo della Ceramica di Montelupo Fiorentino, thanks to the very lovely artisans Sergio Pilastri, Luca Vanni / Tuscany Art and Facto coworking.
